I sorry but...if I were a witch I would never acknowledge the romantic feels of a child I was raising... Nope. It'd be like talking to a fetus- makes no sense. And Hansel just doesn't get that she's been alive for a long time and has been protecting herself for a long time (in perspective) and if she manages to escape the witch hunters properly she'll without a doubt out live them. So his love is in vain but knowing how these authors tend to work they will most likely pair them up (on some for real pedo shit just sayin') and they live happily ever after.
