I disagree, they both have issues that require them to have a love interest, in terms of vanitas his self hate, his mindset of someone actually loving him is revolting and with jeanne, for her to actually want something for herself, away from her work and orders, they are both messed up from their painful past but it's clear that they have a positive influence on eachother along with some cute comedic moments. I honestly don't understand what's annoying about them together, I'm happy for the both of them.
I mean, good for you! ♡ I personally don't think any psychological issue/trauma can be fixed with a romantic interest or that it could help remedy it, nor do i believe that such idea should even be alluded.

I myself was really wary of starting this manga because of it! Let me tell you, there's romance in only 5 of the 51 chapters available to this date. There's way more merit in turning a blind eye than missing this amazing story! ♡ I hope this comment helps!
[spoilers] I dont know why the Vanitas/Jeanne feels so annoying and unnecessary if they are both entrancing characters on their own, on the other hand, Domi/Noe is really interesting and makes me root for them ♡ its almost as if the first one was deliberately made to be questionable and cause a certain level of aversion, however, its not worth missing this story just for that alone! ♡ Who knows? maybe you end up loving the couple, you just have to try! ♡
