IKR! Like I do think Arthur shouldn't have taken her feelings lightly BUT the dude doesn't like her and ya can't force him.
She's right when she thought NOTHING would happen if she didn't do anything cuz Arthur is NOT a pedophile. He'll just live his life as it is without any love interests cuz everybody around him is young to him. I still can't believe she kissed him, I mean she's 12, right? Why are y'all already crucifying Arthur? It's so fcking obvious that he's not attracted to Tess because surprise surprise, he sees her as a kid. As he should! That's why he's so conflicted with the situation. Tess likes him but she's so young and romance is just not on his mind right now. On the other hand, Tess is someone he cares about, so he can't just simply toss away her feeling or she'll be really hurt.
Honestly, my problem with the whole thing is the fact that the author did this when everyone is still so young. They are only 12 years old but romance is being included in the mix already!? Can't the author like wait at least until 16? Puberty is just starting but someone is already in love wtf? I know it's a different world but cmon let kids be kids for a lil more time. Slow burn is really good when done right y'know? Make the romance develop when they're 20 please!
