No, what we are not going to do is have the male lead crucified and make excuses for the female lead. They’re BOTH wrong. As you said, having a sad story doesn’t mean you make someone else sad. The prior queen did that to Blanche. You legit can’t use the rationale of “oh she had her reasons” but say the kings reasons aren’t an excuse lol not coming for you personally, but in general, that double standard is super toxic. No one can MAKE you a villain. You succumb to your own negative feelings and thoughts. Everyone goes through things, It affects them differently, so we all have to make a conscious effort to not give in.

The queen did not have trauma that made her react the way she did towards Blanche. The king did. His reactions to his daughter are based on trauma. If we blame him for the way he reacts to his daughter we blame him for having trauma. That happens far too often to women already. That's why I'm glad to see people coming out defending the king, at least in full force
The anger the original stepmother poured on Blanche was purely a result of pressure put on her by others, pressure that was not put on her directly by Blanche herself sharing the characteristics of these others. That's why the actions of the og stepmother are, in turn, an example of the 'tragic past' that is used to defend majority men.
Im sorry hes an ass..yes i read spoilers in the comments and i still think hes an ass....I believe in one thing...just because you have a sad story it doesn't give you the right to give someone else a sad story...im sorry but the way he treated the original queen....he humiliated her told her to act as though she didnt exist and treated her like garbage....i still dont like the original queen but still...also the queen didnt seem like she abused blanche actively sure she still abused her which is awful but it seemed as though she didnt sought her out to abuse her.....She got mad when she saw her and that resulted in that(In the beginning it showed a scene of her throwing stuff and she was saying "didnt i tell you i get mad at the sight o that child so dont let me see it")...I cant help but feel bad for her...I mean im sure her family put a lot of pressure on her to have a baby with the king to secure her position and seeing Blanche who was his kid that the past queen was able to give birth too while she was unable to give birth to a heir due to the king neglecting her..its understandable why she would be mad at the sight of blanche......if the king treated her like a human she might've been different. He has the right to not want to have sex but couldnt he have put it in nicer terms like wtf the main charecter was right in the beiggining when she said things wouldve been different if not for the king...he was willing to sleep in the same room with her but not dance with her.....really like wtf.....she was a bit obsessive but i think it was because of the pressure her family put on her...dont get me wrong i hate her for laying a hand on my dear baby Blanche but shes understandable...ALSO I SIMP FOR BLANCHE SO BAD OMG! ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
