Why do korean authors..

There are A LOT of korean illegal websites where you can read raws from so I don't understand why they always target foreign websites?? If it's already translated into foreign language of that country, I would understand. But a lot of these authors seems to target Latinos and Vietnamese that don't get the chance to read translated official works..... And in a very high profile manner as compared to korean illegal site. Of course, I am not saying that illegal translations are in the right but honestly it just feel lowkey racist or prejudiced... I have never seen Japanese or Chinese authors reacting like this either... Also, I am not particularly pointing out this author, just in general when korean authors calling out illegal translations...

Because manga artists earned a lot money before their mangas were put to the internet. They have weekly manga magazines and Japanese fans are buying those. Korean webcomics don't have magazine - they have a website to earn money. If in Japanese people would be mass stealing the magazines Japanese would be pissed too and that would ruin manga industry too. By the way scanning and illegal uploads in Japan are illegal and sentenced now, so they are not chill about it

But you don't see japanese authors actively try to shut fan translations down do you? Where else, korea does not seem to actively remove their own illegal sites but instead they target fan translations...

No because for Japanese authors fan translations werent a threat because they earned enough in their country . Koreans fight with Koreans sites too but the law is different and not always they can shot the websites down. They can't shoot down this web neither. And let's be honest. Most of webcomics here aren't even translations, they are screenshots directly from the English Le zh in site

That's not true, a lot ARE fan translations but I guess it depends on what you read so we might have a different experience. Manga authors don't actually earn enough money, it's a misconception. Only the popular ones. And they earn a lot mainly from selling physical volumes. Anyway I am just saying that's it not fair they alway target foreign translations (especially Spanish and Vietnamese) in such high profile manner as compared to their korean counterpart sites.

It's funny that this author is mainly going after Vietnamese translators, when that's the least likely market to get her published.

From what I catched, seem to be because of one troll (I think, it could be an actual translator or wbsmaster) harassing her on twitter.

But yeah, someone kept harassing her and throwing link or translation of their work on her face, mocking her and saying they would never stop, shit like that. It's basically the same reason why she's mad with Mgg to.

She filed 4 lawsuits on an illegal Korean site. those sites are dangerous because illegal readers indirectly help profit out prostitution, human trafficking, and gambling.
