A part of me really believes that she's tryna hide him because she's scared that when otger people find out they gone bully him like they did her friend. But like I said, if she wasn't emotionally ready for it she could have just explained, be up front about it and rejected him politely. He was gonna be sad but at least he woulda understood why. She seems like a nice character all around so I don't believe she meant bad when she accepted him

If you aren't emotionally ready, you shouda just rejected him. Not only are you hurting him but you making it seem like you accepted him because you pitied him. This gone be one train wreck of a date if it even happens.
