Agreed! But the attack titan is able to see the future right? So maybe he must've seen that. Maybe it didn't concern him cuz his friends won't be dragged into it... or maybe because it would take a lot of time for a big trouble to occur... (I mean trouble won't start right after something incredible was found out) or maybe he just didn't have enough time...? Well its still a mystery (I'm seriously sad cuz at the end he just had to give up on humanity and ended up being a bird...)
Agreed+2!!! Eren has mentioned a lot of times that he treasure his friends more then anything so probably he didn't care about the future people..
It's just a tree and Eren took the titan powers away so what Eren did wasn't pointless.

I actually think it does... I mean didn't the tree look like the one ymir fritz(the first titan) fell into when she was shot by arrows? She fell in and gained the ability to be a titan... so what if that girl interests last panel...(I cannot remember where tbh but the child with a dog in chap 139.5) make it into the tree? And... u know the drill... happens...?
So basically everything Eren did was pointless cuz in the future the tree where ymir got her power is still their and another child finds their way to that tree WHILE their is another war going on in the world....... Damn. Well, at least he managed to let his friends live the remaining of their lives in peace.
