I wish women (well, fujoshi) would stop assuming who's the top and who's the bottom. Yes, I know how most BL work, but that's just because readers basically demand it to be like that. Gay men are pretty diverse, so please, for the love of god, stop asking for Shizuki to be the top. You have literally thousands of stories where your fetishist stereotypes of us come true.

    I know, which is why in my initial comment I wrote “romance author”, not “romance mangaka”. And the point still stands, virginity is still a common trope among fictive romance stories, the best-selling romance of the last 10 years in fact.

    And that’s fine, I’ll even recommend you some. But there is a huge difference between reading what you like, and demanding authors cater to your particular taste
