same here. i just tutored few kids but it was really obvious which ones were raised with affection :/. still breaks my heart.
Yes it's so sad. Hangyul's parents obv love him very much and seem like nice people, but they are so neglectful as parents. And that's had a huge impact on his self confidence.

I’ve been a tutor for kids before and you can really tell which child is deprived of affection and attention and it’s saddening.
