I'm sorry but if there's no drama and romance how would there be a character chemistry

It would be boring if it was all fight scenes.. how is the audience supposed to build a connection with the characters if theyre just fighting all the time...

you dont have to have romance to create chemistry, look at aot, the friendship between each character develops them into relatable people

Their backstories, friendships, pain, a little bit of comedy, idk~ the fucking plot? Not every story needs romance.

okay and romance is a natural part of life also??!?! people wll naturally fall for people.... the romance is also a part of the plot.... and pain and backstories doesnt matter to the readers if they arent connected with the characters. like for example in the manga bungou stray dogs.. daza has a horrible backstory of being abused and is very suicidal and of course i would feel bad for him. but if i didnt have any connection with him then i would not feel anything on a deeper level. clearly yall did nawt take a language arts or english class the only valid thing u said there was their friendshps

never said it wasnt? we were just saying this story didn't need it, its not necessary to use romance to fundamentally shape the characters into what the author wanted them to be. if romance was designated from the very beginning a lot of readers would've been turned off including me. things like crushes i don't consider to be romance because its part of the "slice of life" genre which i could care less about.

I'm not saying I hate when romance is in a comic I actually love romance. But people will connect to characters without romance. And this story doesn't really need the romance. But I like it anyways.
Also, some people will connect with a person cause of their backstory. Not everyone is a romance nerd.
