Im pretty sure the Father was on a tight leash cause the King is using her as a bargaining chip so that the duke cant go home and has to work and follow the orders of the king.
Which caused The Duke who is being threatened that if he disobeys the king will take the life of MC so duke avoided her so she wont be in danger.
Not that i support his decision. Mc still had a fucked up childhood but if the king wasn't there the duke could have been a father.

So I just put some spoiler here...I think a lot of spoilers had mentioned this but the king had put a really tight leash on the one he loves because if the king knew, her life will be in jeapordy....and if something happen, not only the king will kill Juvel, he will made Regis kill her (the king can control Regis) just like what happened to his wife (to be fair, the wife was killed by assassins but at that time, Regis couldn't even protect her because he was controlled). I thinik this part rarely mentioned ....
Regis didn't even dare to attempt affection towards Juvel and yeah.. giving her the knife is a bad move. But hey... He's also a human. He can make a mistake ....
And in this story, he showed his love a bit maybe because he got a recurring nightmare that Juvel killed herself

interesting, i didnt know the duke was under LITERAL control??? like mind control or do u mean it figuratively since the king is using fl as leverage. sighhhh i understand his situation and sympathize with him but i think that letting her know why hes acting like this is to keep her safe. if he did this, misunderstanding wouldnt have happened BUT it led to her reincarnating n living life differently so ^___^

idk how to feel abt the dad. he has always acted cold in her past life, it doesnt hurt to show just an ounce of affection if he truly did love his daughter. like what is she supposed to do when u gave her a knife n threw her in confinement, ur relationship is so strained tht she misinterpreted ur intention thus killed herself. hhh i hope she uncovers the truth etc
