For me it’s not a matter of not recognizing he has several issues, but rather understanding why. Also I’m generally fascinated by characters with a darker edge. However I’m hoping we’ll see some growth coming from him. I think he made one step forward in that direction with the kids as he thought back on how his mother used to pat his head, for example.

Here are my reasons why:
- most of her decisions, she made based off rumors rather than facts. For a Knight, it’s kind of disappointing.
- she vilified the emperor to their children and I’m still wondering if that’s not going to cause some trauma for them, especially because of how strong they reacted when they found out he was their father.
Yeah I agree. Though I’d like to add that acknowledging him being a shitty character also understanding as to why he was designed that why. Imo, you can’t truly acknowledge the character is horrible without understanding why he’s horrible in the first place.
I’m really not hoping for a good character development, as these rarely come by in mahwa like this but i do like to see them get their shit together and just talk without assumptions. They’re co parenting now, and i think they owe it to their children to be decent parents and not let these poor kids get stuck in the middle of their shit
What the user above me said. In addition to that, instead of trying to talk things out with ML she decided to just yeet away from him and be done with it. She literally wasted so much time avoiding her problems that could be probably resolved within hours of communication. Granted, she’s afraid, but at least have the courage for your children. They deserve to grow up in a good environment and family at least. Tho it’s understandable she did it, still doesn’t excuse her actions.

I mean, I see where you're coming from, but she had a justified cause of running away.
- The dude literally manipulated her with the dreams, so there was no way she'd want to talk after that (not like there was any room for talking anyways lol).
- Yeah, she demonized the emperor and that had a negative impact on the kids. But, she genuinely thought he would kill them and the emperor's actions are so so wrong they deserve to be criticized; he's a literal tyrant, killed thousands in war, killed the 2nd ml's parents for an unknown reason, and said that he's only using the kids for bait for Elan who he's gonna lock up in the palace. Motivated by fear, villifying the emperor was a survival instict to keep the kids safe, and [most] mothers will do anything to keep their kids with them.
Okay, so I would have agreed with this if the ml was open to talk. From the beginning, he made up his mind that the kids and fl aren't leaving him, disregarding the fl's wishes completely. He said that he has a "love" for her which is more of an obsession. Emperor wants to lock her up in the palace and live w/her and her children. Dude literally tried to manipulate her dreams instead of talking. Emperor knew the fl was the baby of his children and his first instinct was to control her dreams.
Children do need to grow up in a good environment though - completely agree.
What i was thinking was : FL should have tried to talk to him, and if he explicitly said “no you’re staying here end of story i wont hear about it anymore you wont bring it up again” then I could understand the lack of communication. But FL was overrun by her emotions with how pyscho ML decided to punish Mickey and how he pretended not to know it was her all along. Especially in Mickey’s part, instead of just right out asking she restored to “my friend” method. I understand why, but it just makes it much worse. Because honestly, there’s so many manhwa that started off like this, and it’s getting real tiring not to see ppl communicating. If FL put her foot down despite being afraid, I think it would better and much more clear cut compared to just running away instead of exhausting all possibilities.
Tldr ; ML is so shit, FL is not that shit, but could have been better.

I don't think she would've attempted communication after that out of survival for the babies and herself. Dude could've been more open for fl to come talk, but yeah fl [justifiably] made decision to keep babies hidden.

Yeah that’s what i meant with the “my friend” / Mickey situation. Instead of hypothetical, she could have straight up just asked. But nah. She already assumed that he’s aboutta loop her head, justifiably so, until he spilled the beans about him knowing about her all along. He then said that he won’t kill her, and he’d make the baby his heir (didnt know it was twins at that time). I don’t think even if she’d resist she’d get killed especially when he’s phrasing shit like he doesn’t mind her losing a limb or two, so long she’s at his side. Gives u enough impression he won’t kill her so fleeing bc they fear getting killed is kinda wrong conclusion imo.
With the recent chapters going on, i’d like to hold out hope they might come together and talk, if only for the sake of the children, and if ML still doesn’t want to compromise then the ball is already in FL’s side.
