He is not adopted. His mom got remarried in a rich family, whose husband has also a son from previous marriage. The MC misses his previous lifestyle, relatives and friends after coming to this new family. He is not a gang leader, but the place he previously lived, he has his friend circle who are not into study. But he himself is really good student but pretend he is not, that's how the name of the manhua came
