What you view as "arent doing anything to you" the author views as them taking away paying viewers which then makes them lose money that they may use as their livelihood, end of the day the author has requested something that isn't really a hard ask but "fans" of the series choose to disrespect the author instead, try putting yourself in the author's shoes
