I think... it's also a seinen/shonen vs josei/shoujo thing... there's a lot more *hiding* in shoujo/josei than in seinen/shonen.
But also in this family's case, there are actively malicious family members so getting their attention when Tia and her daddy aren't very powerful yet isn't in Tia's best interest.
