Kurose clearly liked Nishigaki. I mean there may not be a full blown love triangle but Kurose would still have some feelings towards Nishigaki that would upset Shirotani.

Hahaha okay um how about you reread a chapter or two. Kurose pushed Nishigaki down and started feeling him up. Sure he was a kid but he definitely liked Nishigaki and not in a brotherly way. Kurose loves Shirotani now but he surely still has some feelings left for his "first love". Also, kids are perfectly capable of falling in love. Love isn't all about age~
