Even before this latest chapter he totally got super pissed when FL said it was okay not to love him because he'll only love the late queen. He threw something and yelled at FL asking who told her that . So we already knew he didn't love the late queen. Now we getting a hint as to why (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
wait now... something about that one panel of his late wife tells me that maybe his trauma/hatred of women isn't out of love for his ex-wife, but because she traumatized him in some way (potentially sexual assault)?? that's just horrible oh my god (while that doesn't excuse his treatment of blanche, its a much more realistic and understandable reason than say, the common trope of "my wife died in childbirth so now I hate the kid that she died giving birth to" or something like that) i hope sabelian can heal from his past trauma and I genuinely think abigail's personality (someone who doesn't try to force their way in but rather is just very open and caring) is really going to help him get over his fears
