I think it’s great she wants to hold her own but not at the expense of the fl. If she wants to survive she should be thinking of alternative comprises to her situation. She can’t just come into into an unknown place and suddenly expect to be the best of the best while using the ml, let alone compete with the fl lol. It looks like she’s just doing what she wants for herself to rise up in society with no goal to survive like you said. If she’s going after the ml for true feelings then it would be different but I doubt it
That's why I liked her at first too. She is not wrong in liking Kuhn or wanting to marry him to strengthen her position. But I lost respect for her when she started lying about things and she later joins hands with the bitch Empress. So she is definitely a negative character.
