Because the content of omegaverse is at odds with yaoi, and because the ideas expressed in omegaverse works are so offensive to so many yaoi fans, omegaverse and mpreg need to have their own genre, wholly separate from yaoi. Though omegaverse works might attract many, their target audience is young and pubescent women in their childbirthing years when pregnancy, having children, and making a family is a both a goal and a romantic idea. I have no objection to dj's with ideas that cater to those tastes. To each his own, but this is not yaoi. Pregnancy, becoming pregnant, lactation, nipple soreness, childbearing, childrearing, and marriage and family are firmly rooted in the world of heterosexuality. This is particularly true when many if not all of these ideas appear within the same work. Depictions of heterosexual lovemaking are not included in yaoi, and for similar reasons so should mpreg and omegaverse be excluded, with latitude, of course, for a certain amount crossover.
