is it confirmed there will be season 2 of the animation? and what happened to the manhua? did they drop it?
From my knowledge it is confirmed that there will be a season 2 some time this year. I seen Instagram fan scumbag system accounts mentioning a season 2. It was announced during an event in 2020 that season 2 was going to come out sometime during 2021, then later posted in a weibo account.
About the Manhua from my understanding the project was dropped by the Manhua studio after the first 2 chapters. They only say that there was "a series of problems". So apparently a employee from the company, not from the project itself, started bashing the author and the story scumbag system. The company took the employee's side, also started talking shit, and ditched the project they already spent money on. Not to worry tho i think that it still can be continued, all they would need it the rights to do so.
And let's be honest i am happy the previous studio dropped it because compared to "Heavens Official" and "Mo Dou Zu shi" the animation was so lacking like they weren't even trying. I wish it gets picked up by someone better in heart and animation. Who really wants to attract more people into the Scumbag system fandom.
