i don’t know much, but in some languages, the word “wife” transcends gender or, in some cases, the word “wife” is the closest but is still not an entirely accurate translation of the term originally used. a lot of cultures have different interpretations of the words wife and husband. i haven’t read this manga’s raws, though, so i can’t really tell, but do remember that not all writers or mangakas are aware/many of them have very different definitions of the words that we know.

Why aren't we allowed to like a comment? (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
In my country there is no word for husband or wife nor we have a pronoun like he/her. We use a common gender neutral term.
(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ I've read a lot of Chinese novel and like ours they use the same word to say he/she, so sometimes you can read titles with wives (especially if you MTL) but it's yaoi. I hope that OP considered the fact that this was translated from a different language.

I wasn't even shaming you. I was making a point. You're the one who assumed I was at first and got defensive. Also as someone in the LGBTQ+ community many couples in same sex relationships will refer to other as husband and wife interchangeably.
Also you seem to misunderstand the Freedom of Speech thing. Freedom of Speech does not mean freedom from consequences. You express your views someone is free to counter it. Freedom of Speech does not mean Freedom from consequences. If it did there wouldn't be laws against hate speech.

> Some people need to remember demand a different language change to fit what you believe is right is extremely Xenophobic and Racist.
You're right, this was totally not a personal attack. Imagine resorting to lying in order to win an argument on the internet, calling people racist for calling out sexist/htereonormative notions in different languages. I'm out.
is it really that inconceivable to think of two men as two husbands? fucking disgusting and sexist
