I think that’s the problem. A lot of people on here are young and/or read too much yaoi and not enough gay fiction outside of that. There are some really good, mature BL that represent diversity and realistic relationships, but most are tropey as hell. And too many people get sucked into those tropes and expect every story to be like that. When it’s not, they hate. Uh oh well. If some people can’t appreciate a good story or a lovely character like Sys, that’s their problem.
