I think the author already tried by making ml's hair dark brown and fl's hair black... but couldn’t resist making ml's hair dark bc that just looks good and also wanted fl to stand out in a medieval European setting where it was common to have red or blonde hair ╮(￣▽￣)╭
It's not just fl and Cecilia looking like each other lol. Also fl's brother looks a lot like the ml. You could completely convince me that they're related lmaoooooo
