He didn't exactly die, but he did in a sense sacrifice his life because the hunters' weapons needed vampireblood or something along those lines. Also Kaname is the father of the girl but Zero is the father of the boy (⌒▽⌒)

Man, that a part i dont like about Vampire Knight, its so confusing sometimes.
That's after Kaname wakes up, many many many years later.
In case you're confused, Kaname was frozen so he's not dead. After Vampire Knight ends, Yuuki and the others were researching how to turn vampire into human. They were successful yeeeeears later and Kaname wakes up as a human. At this point, I think Yuuki and Zero are dead.
