please take this with a grain of salt because I’veread too many manhwas and I might have mixed this up... ╮(￣▽￣)╭
anyways, from what i can remember, he also doesn’t feel any praise or worship for the mom saint as well but is just pretending. However, it was not yet mentioned from the raws that i’ve read why he is doing so. I can say for sure tho that he also hasn’t personally met our FL as well so he doesn’t know that she’s the real saint.
Also, before the timeskip, the short-haired girl was killed by the white haired dude (they're lovers) because he had no choice but to obey the mom saint when she and the FL were trying to escape. You guys can confirm this part in the next chapters once the FL and the short haired girl meet and she realizes that she’s the true saint. The FL will have flashbacks of how the girl died and the look of the white haired dude when he shot an arrow at his lover (i think he was originally aiming for the FL but his lover blocked it and died instead)
