I want to add since A lot of peoples responds to this was that he was dreaming when he did it... still doesn’t excuse the action and how he handled it after finding out he did that. He pretty much went “yeah well I don’t remember it so it’s like it never even happened for me but sorry” it’s giving me “ he was drunk so it’s not technically rape” vibe when people say that
And I repeat I am in no way excusing what the duke does after and what he does in the future
Jace never raped the duke whatsoever the duke consented to having sex with jace.
Then I guess we have different definition of what consent looks like. Which is ok.
feel like everyone’s forgetting how Jace pretty much raped a straight guy right from the start that couldn’t even get hard if not sucked off and the only thing he did after finding out he did that was to scream sorry while running away and then just flat out ignores the duke after, that’s pretty messed up if you think about it. I’m def not excusing the dukes action if anything(what he did was equally as disgusting) I lay the blame on the author for putting so much rape in a story that would’ve done so great without it. Still very much appreciate their work and they’re obviously still very talented.
