Referring to the novel. In the beginning which I wish the manhua was more direct about, it literally said she was his favourite out of all them, he spoiled her and listening to her (which got him thrown into prison) and even though she wasn't his wife she got all the power. Now if this was a isekai where protagonist took over the villain body, who treat people horrible, I would understand gaving them a chance because that villian treat they badly so you expect them to retaliate.
However Shao never treated her badly like I said he gave power her that was supposed to belong to the wife. That was embarrassment to Hanzhang and he was treated horrible and bullied, however he stay with Shao until the bitter end. So why would he spend time with her again, especially the prince her family is backing is the favour son. She knows that if she helps get Shao out the running she would be reward heavily. She could never stand just being a consort she rather have the title of being the first wife and Empress. Cause Shao knows (they all know that) he'll never be Emperor because he doesnt have political bones his body that why Mu is such great help because he does.
