I feel you man. My parents spent thousands on Chinese lessons since I'm monolingual. After all these years all I understand is 你好. I understand more Japanese than Chinese because of all the anime I've watched the past few years... how depressing.
I can't believe this Manhau actually made me read Chinese outside of school...
Took me more than twice as long compared to reading it in English but it was worth it.
