They always beleived that ML and MC we're destined lovers but in the end... on all eternities the ML was the bad guy stealing the MC from the guy he was destined to be... So it always end up the ML killing the guy the MC loves and then the MC killing the ML in previous eternity... although in current setting the roles kinda changed the MC falls in love with the villain as he saw the MC first...

Uhm basically, MC is the girl in the past. She was a child of God and is not supposed to have a name. But ML, not knowing any of it, named her. So God abandoned MC and it made her life "difficult". ML made MC his concubine and MC don't really mind her "difficult" life thou.
Past Dennis, the other guy blames ML for everything. And he thinks, it's making MC unhappy. He secretly loved the MC from afar and making ways to bump into her "accidentally".
The people who are jealous of MC because ML favors her greatly uses the "accidental bumping" to accuse MC of cheating. Anyway, they killed MC. While ML was trying to save MC, he witness her die in front of him. That's why he blames his self for him/her first death.
Now, in present time. Deniss still blames ML for everything. Which I think is ironic because he actually got MC killed because he was stalker her during the past life lol. He should himself (in my opinion).

but i think it was the inspiration.. theres a reason why the ML kinda forced to forget all the memories because when he remembers everything that would be the twist... theres a reason why he remembers in some chapter he killed someone and the MC killed him.. it was because in previous lives he was stealing the MC from its destined lover.. them not ending together is kinda the reason why there is a reset... somehow most of the plot aligns..
and its true that the series too is confusing like this manga up until the MC would start to remember everything too and the ML would remember everything too and it would be kind of messed up because in this lifetime the MC really loves the ML which is the villain in previous lifetime and they would think that in order to end the eternity the MC needs to end up with the 2nd lead which is the destined lover in previous lifetime... but then again the series ends with the MC in another lifetime meeting it's destined lover and being bestfriend with the ML... its a very good series.

I think this one is not adapted from the one you mentioned called "Eternity". I hope it's not. ML was never a villain in any lifetime tho. If anyone is the villain, it's that Deniss. He caused the MC's death (first timeline) by stalking her and giving those people a chance to accuse MC.
Besided what's the point of the whole story if MC ends up with the dude who've been stalking him/her all life time. Just wth. Compared to all the efforts ML put in, that Deniss is like an outsider who keeps butting in their relationship tbh. If he don't do anything crazy and if he really wants MC to be happy like what he claims he does. He would shut up and do nothing. I hate when a character shows up and acts like they know better. I'll cry if this is not a happy ending. Those two deserve to be happy. After all those lifetime, they deserve to be happy huhu

chapter 5... a person next to you shot me and i shot you... that was the ML in confused state he doesnt know the clear details yet.. it seems like he starting to know full details now in recent chapters. the MC and the 2nd lead should have been together in the beginning and ML is too jeal9us and selfish si he created all this mess...
I still won't accept it. No. Just no. It won't make sense. The title is even about the ml and mc. Why would a guy who suddenly appeared, end up to be the end game. He should have appeared earlier to make it sense. I think he's just an obstacle they need to get through. MC even repeatedly said, the past is over. And it is.
