What I didn't know that despite being an Asian...but you mean japanese people??am I right??
Nah, it's in Asian culture in general but it's a pretty old tradition so a lot of people dont celebrate it that way anymore.
For example, my korean friend got sticky rice w/ red beans on her first period.
Lol, just saying but in asian culture it used to be tradition to give sticky rice with red beans as a gift saying, "congrats for losing your virginity" or "congrats for your first period"
