Ok I just want to say this. Absolutely loved the story.
So I may be biased when saying that them ending monologue didn't ruin it for me. At first, I had mixed feelings about it 'cuz I wanted it to be wholesome and purehearted but when I thought about it, it actually fits. We know how goal-driven Raymond is throughout the whole story, he always had that obsessive quality where he goes over and beyond. The storytelling actually make sense (to me tho) why he got that possessiveness to Ian, especially now that he redirected his goal into loving Ian and deems it more important than anything. I don't really agree that he's lying to Ian like how he thinks he is, it's just that Ian isn't aware of how deep Raymond feeling are towards him and Raymond is afraid to scare him.
But that's just how I see it. I actually find it sweet that he says "You'll never find out" because that's like he would keep trying to keep himself under control like a good hubby. Or am I taking things out of context? Lmaooo
Well that was my tedtalk... Now let me cry because one of my fav bl just ended ( T﹏T )┛
I think the same. And it would be unnatural and out of line for his character to become fluffy through and through, he is who he is , he s not real fluff but he s doing his best cause he is in love. This is more realistic this way
