Personally, I disagree. I do think this is an issue of age and the maturity that comes along with it. Luke is an adult and deals with things as an adult does. He's quite pragmatic and practical in how he approaches things. OTOH, because he's younger and has less responsibilities, Gabriel tends to be more carefree/flexible with his thinking. The issue with Gabriel waiting is a sad reality for many working people, and was handled maturely by Luke. He had no chance of winning in that situation. It's easy to believe you can drop everything for your boyfriend, but that's not the way the world works. He also has a poker face, which I think people dislike since it's not expressive as Gabriel's. Ray wouldn't be any better if you think about it though, since he's also stone faced.

I kinda agree with you in some aspects and i understand completely where you’re coming from. When i said i cant seem to like him its not based from the last chapter’s events, i meant generally, i couldnt like him. I usually like mature characters because it saves us from the unnecessary drama but idk some things he says in the past chapters just puts me off. But again thats just my opinion, some might like his personality and home might not! We’re all here to enjoy reading afterall!

Exactly. Although I understand why some people might dislike him, I personally can relate with him a lot. This is the reason why people say age matters. Luke’s older and more mature. He’s been in relationships before and is much more calmer. While, like in dramas, we would want our lover to just drop everything and come to our rescue, real life doesn’t work that way. If he really did drop everything, his boss could fire him. Also this has happened to many people, because of their job or the traffic or any other reason, they might be late to a date. Obviously that isn’t a good thing but I don’t think that should be a reason to break up completely especially if it’s the first or second time it’s happened.!And you do need to somewhat hide your relationship if you’re dating someone with the same gender. Asian countries are not as open to LGBTQ+ relationships yet and they will fire you if you come out of the closet. Trust me, I live in Asia. Their excuse is “You are not what the company represents. We can not let you change our reputation and image.” You can also see that Luke has had bad experiences with relationships and so it makes sense for him to be much more cautious about it. After all, while you shouldn’t blame someone else’s mistake to another, it never hurts to be careful.

Gabriel is younger and more inexperienced. He’s much more excited to be in a relationship especially since it’s his first relationship and he’s also a lot more lucky since it seems like he really haven’t had any bad relationships memories. He’s in college, he doesn’t have a full time job is so while he might have his difficulties, he obviously not as busy as Luke. If he were to be older and have a full time job, their schedule would fit much more easier since you have 5 work days and 2 free days in which you can plan for dates and stuff. He’s also much more carefree since he really doesn’t have much to lose in this relationship. Of course, he’s also going to have to go through a hard time if someone outed them in the company but it would be Luke who would have to talk to his coworkers and the higher lips, lose his jobs and maybe even his future jobs since there are times when companies refuse to give you jobs if you are openly gay. Luke also doesn’t really talk about his family so if we were to assume he hasn’t talked to them, he would also be outed to his family. While for Gabriel on the other hand, he’s come out of the closet to his family and friends so he might just lose his relationship with Luke and have to deal with people judging him. It still won’t be as bad as Luke because as much as it much stress him out and make him uncomfortable, at least he doesn’t personally know them like Luke does and would not have to see them everyday.
