Did Yona even had the chance to get the throne? Considering the time period, only men could have it. If she married someone then yeah but she hasn’t. That’s also to why he only asked Zeno when he could’ve asked Yona as well since Yona is a great candidate to take the throne.
Well there isn’t much to worry since he’s well off going to die sooner or later and I’m hoping Yona will soon marry Hak and take the throne lol

Yona is a great candidate to take the throne but hak isn't, he's the type of guy who uses the fist before the brain, and the problem with both of them is that the wouldn't be able to put the kingdom before themselves, that's what I think, even if yona has mature a lot she's still much too naive

I disagree—she’s consistently put the kingdom in front of herself and probably will even more so when she has the responsibility of the kingdom on her shoulders

Mmm maybe I didn't explain myself correctly, to be in politics 100 years ago and even now you have to harden your heart, for example soo won
Hé had to choose between 2 of the people who meant the world to him and the kingdom, he sacrifice this 2 people to save the kingdom (and the millions of people who lived in there, when you analize the situation with a cold mind it's pretty obvious, millions of lives are worth more than 2 lives (simple math) but when feelings get In the way it becomes impossible to find a solution, and I don't think yona (then and even now) would have the guts to sacrifice precious people to her to save the kingdom, she just don't have it in her, sure she has mature a lot, and it's not longer the ditzy princess from the beginning but I don't think she can take those kind of hard decisions.
Now you propably will argue that soo won didn't need to go that far, but I will not discuss on that since if you're watching the same manga as me then is far too obvious that the mangakas implies over and over again that he didn't had another option

I actually interpreted the manga differently—he didn’t have another option Bc he didn’t allow himself to have another option. He was so blinded by his father that he didn’t consider that he was perpetuating the cycle of hate (that was the point of the mom diary arc).

That’s why I think Yona is better, because she is much more willing to compromise and put trust in the people around her while still holding them accountable. She’s less ruthlessly impulsive because she values human life and that’s shown in the two sisters arc (can’t remember the name of the country).

I also think that she would still be able to sacrifice people close to her because she trusts them to reach similar or the same conclusions as her. That’s why she’ll send them on their own to do places and things that may harm them. However, unlike Soo-won, she’s willing to go through every other option first, which ultimately saves more lives.

I guess ultimately I think Soowon’s apathetic ness makes him less receptive to people (him seeing his army as a pawn and willing to sacrifice them and willingness to kill other country’s people without getting as much intel as possible) Yona is more balanced at this which makes her much preferred to me

    Wow that was long lmao
