If I'm not mistaken, he's also reincarnated, seeing that he had flashbacks of their meetings from previous life. He might have had feelings for her ever since his previous life. It might as well be that she and her whole family was killed because he is one of the candidates for the throne and his enemies found out he loved her.
well yes he was aswell reincarnated but as far as I know he was only interested in her in this lifetime since she was acting wayy much different and I'm not too sure but as far as I remember aswell haha is that her family wasn't killed because the ml loved her.. her family was killed because the king wanted som from her family that can grants a wish and it only worked for mc that's why she reincarnated
