Imagine if the ending would be her waking up in a hospital because she overdosed. Then on that life, the book's contents changed to what she experienced and the it was a happy ending, the princess was able to save her Dad and they lived long and happy. But now that she's back on her modern life, she thinks that she only dreamed of the book she read.
