It's not about comparing what's worse and what isn't because it's a very subjective matter.
Also such severe beating in the face/head region can literally lead to death or serious health consequences.

And if I'm not mistaken although English is not my mother tongue "to beat someone up" means "to hit someone HARD and REPEATEDLY".

As someone who has experienced being cheated on, I also still stick to my view that cheaters deserve it.
I won't go into details since it'll be too personal, but cheating doesn't only destroy the current relationship, but also ruins your relationships with people around you, your self-esteem, and your future relationships since it gives you the fear and doubt of potential partners or lovers.
Physical pain can heal fast, but the psychological trauma cheating causes is just severe.
They're not even in the same level.

Anyway, we may just be coming from different situations, so we have different perspectives.

Never ever violence is an answer. If you lower yourself to violence you are not only committing a crime but in the end you are not any better than the said cheater.
