Right? Have to take into account her situation from when she was young, and now. Not every female lead needs to be outwardly strong physically and/or mentally. Because not every woman is like that, even in this day and age. Besides, this is still in the beginning and she can get even stronger in the future.

I agree. If she were portrayed any differently she’d be a cliche. In real life a person who was raised with such physical and emotional abuse, who didn’t know when they’d eat again or even if they’d live to see another day…..would be traumatized beyond repair. On top of that she’s sent to die in a country filled with people who also hate her. She can’t even trust the children around her. The author is portraying fl realistically. I’m looking forward to her slowly gaining confidence in herself as well as gaining the respect of those around her as they see who she really is inside.
By the way, I feel the ml is trying to help her become the dignified lady she was meant to be. That pompous ass tailor treated her exactly like those maids that made her beg for table scraps as a child. I don’t think the ml was saying she was being servile in caring about that jerk’s life, he meant that she was being servile in allowing him to speak to her with such disrespect. Anyway, I like this story and applaud the author for not turning the fl into some unrealistic cliche superhero.
She is weak.
But at the same time, she is strong.
She has been neglected since even before she was born, she has been taking care of her mother since she was small, alone.
Even to eat she had to beg for food for someone of lower status than her.
Imagine if you were neglected since you were a baby and live in poverty even though you were born as the most powrful man's child and lived in the same place as him. Now after years, you've grown up and your mother is still sick and the man claiming as your father has your mother's life in his hand, sent you to die in a foreign kingdom.
Even like that, she couldn't and wouldn't hurt someone else. She is hella strong already. She doesn't need to be good at swordsmanship or martial arts.
