I really do not feel the intention of this manga was to be racist. I truly think the premise of this manga was just have a hot, muscular, and tribal-esque guy mixed in with smexy scenes. Yes it is cliche and stereotypical, but most yaoi are like that. A lot of yaoi stereotypes are insulting to the gay community as well. There wasn't supposed to be culture or history; it's not a slice of life manga. I don't think the actual mangaka would actually end up being a super racist person.
