I'm not sure which life you're referring to, but before she died (when she was Estelle) they seem to be childhood friends.
After dying and reincarnating, she just wants to take revenge on Khalid for betraying her. So, I don't know if there's going to be a development where she drops the revenge.
I hope she doesn't forgive him. I might stop reading because that would be BS.
Let me guess, there's going to be some sort of "justification" (rolls eyes) as to why Khalid BEHEADED Estelle and presented it to the King to save his own ass. Perhaps another, "Oh I have a lot of secrets I should be telling Estelle but I won't because I want to protect her yada yada"
SERIOUSLY, no matter what kind of backstory this asshat has --- not only did he completely betray her trust, he murdered her and used her as a trophy of war.
Get yourself checked in the head if you "feel sorry" for him or "forgive him" after whatever lame backstory the author gives him even after knowing what he has done to his comrades.
