What the King and the evil princess does to Yuer in the novel is far worse. The king whips him so badly and breaks his hand that Yuer almost died. The princess was sticking needles in him at one point. The manwha really glosses over how violent the king was towards him and how harshly he was treated as a slave. Especially when he's left to starve after the king has a hissy fit about the emperor rescuing him in the mountain. I still find it weird how the novel then does a 180 and makes the King into the good guy.
And i don't doubt that, but here in this manhwa he isn't portrayed that harsh, I mean yeah poor Yuer, but HERE the king was genuinely attracted to him since the beginning and cared for him, the problems started because
1.- Yuer always made assumptions and delayed to tell the truth, so other people used that to make the king doubt him
2.- The king was very jealous and close minded when angry
But HERE we could've avoided everything if Yuer told him the truth, like "My king! The emperor came here, I tried to chase him out but he didn't listen to me!" instead of saying that nobody was there when there were footprints in the snow and so on
I'm not saying that the king doesn't deserve Yuer attitude, but damn this could be to different if they talked this out since the beginning and stopped making assumptions hahaha
Also when the king noticed how they were putting needless in his fingers he took care of it at least here, i didn't read the novel and I'm not planning to because is so bat at remembering names hahhaha
Well there was another manhwa like this one, were the ruler took a survivor from another land and made him his slave, they hated each other tried to kill themselves and then they fell in love hahaha so well everything is possible in the manhwas ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Very true. I've lost count of the amount of manwhas that would have been about 5 episodes long if the characters just communicated with each other (⌒▽⌒)
Hahaha I really find it funny that everyone is enjoying how the king is suffering but then I remember how all of this could have been avoided if the little princess was honest since the beginning instead of making his own assumptions, cause the king was really worried and cared for him until he started to debut his feelings cause He couldn't be honest when the king told him moments ago to be honest whit him and to trust him, also if your gonna lie do it well hahaha
Also the frigging bodyguard was so useless hahaha he always failed to protect Yuer like dude...
The king asked you to watch him, but nooo you went to chase a frigging mouse because the bitch told you...
I know that the king did some awful things but well those only happened until he lost the trust he had in Yuer, remember that all the concubines that died were killed by the creazy bitch by well he didn't really care about them hahaha (￣∇￣") also I saw the raws and let me tell you that he do almost the imposible to keep him alive...
To summarize all this both of them are at fault, but well that's just my opinion hahaha don't get angry ok?
