I can understand that you don’t like the teacher/student thing. I don’t particularly like it either. Like if they do that trope at least do it with college students. But pedo? Do you even know what a pedo is? I don’t know how old the student was, 18 is being off age and an adult (the student/teacher thing would still be problematic but at least the student wouldn’t be a minor). But what we for sure can say is that the student was not prepubescent, aka not a child. So pedo is definitely the wrong term here.
