Well we missing a few pieces of information. Like how hight the cliff is. If the cliff is as high as a 3 story building it is possible that he would just have a few broken bones and memory loss.

well, there is a panel, where you can see the trees below them and it's super high. if he had 1 broken bones at least, he'd have to stay bedridden and the coronation would've proceeded smoothly
