First of all- it’s not just neglect it’s abuse. His neglect went so far as to let her be starved and ignored her being harassed and physically abused. In modern society that’s enough for child services to permanently remove a child from their family without contact. As a parent you’re responsible for your child’s health. If the people you employ are starving your child to the point their growth is stunted and you didn’t notice- that’s pretty evil. It’s even worse since he couldn’t care less once he was informed. Which is also why his character is very poorly thought out since a father who doesn’t care whether their daughter starves or not wouldn’t really care about their health and safety but for some reason he has random moments where he does a complete 180 from a father who is willing to let their daughter starve to a father who is suspicious of a step mother being cruel when he has let her get away with harassing the daughter pretty much every other time.
A child is innocent so he shouldn’t be wary of her. It’s understandable for him to not desire to be her father but if he couldn’t take care of her at least he should have made sure her basic needs are met by other people if he wasn’t going to give her up for adoption. And basic needs include love and nurturing. It’s not a privilege or something parents/guardians can opt out of. A child literally has the right to nurture and love.

Chapter 15 she finds out Blanche was starved and towards the end she suddenly notices how small she is and presumes her growth is stunted due to starvation.
Chapter 16 she informs the ML. This is kind of where the split personality of his comes in cos on one hand he couldn’t care less that his daughter was being starved but on the other he is trying to figure out whether the FL is a threat to himself and presumably Blanche as well. I think this scene especially was badly written since his reaction to his daughter being starved is pretty sociopathic in that chapter despite the fact that at other times the author tries to put in scenes where he’s concerned about the FL trying to harm Blanche. That scene was wrongly used to highlight how the ML notices that the FL has changed which lets him grow more fond of her when it should have been used to show that the ML cares about his daughter despite letting her be starved under his nose for years.
To begin with I really don’t think it was a good idea to include that she seems to have stunted growth and was starved because that’s a pretty severe offence against a child irl.

It’s okay if you missed it! It was Chapter 27, it showed a split panel of his past and the woman said “it’s okay even if you don’t want it” or smth similar to that
Both sides are right regarding the ML he should not neglect his daughter and he should feel wary of the daughter because rape aren't a joke rape apply to bothe male and female it traumatized and it clearly stated they want an heir even the king only 14 or 15 how could a person doesn't feel disgust about these?
Neglecting a child yes it's wrong unfortunately you guys should see that the ML provided basic necessity and take care of her the only things make it seems big is the 'love' they lack of even if these case bring to court under neglecting a child I'm sure the father still win because he didn't do anything against the law he only lack of love that's it.ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
