i love how depressing and true to humanity this is. the way the characters are portrayed is so unique but does a great way of showing who they are and the physical changes punpun goes through reflects how he’s acting and feeling. it all sort of made sense, but at the same time it didn’t. like i kind of thought it would happen, but when it happened i hated that it had happened. the ending is also very interesting.

it strays away from Punpun’s perspective and just zooms wayyyyy out almost like he isn’t the protagonist anymore. anyway super interesting, can make you cry, but i wouldn’t read this just to read something sad. i would read this if you want to take a deep look at one perspective of humanity and a unique way of portraying the human mind.

and yes, the events that actually happen are pretty depressing and sad, but that’s not why i cried. i think i cried because of the raw and pure disgust i felt for a character i had loved so so much, and how when he started to go south, i could tell but couldn’t bring myself to hate him. i also cried because of the reality of everything is so close to what real life is, yet is set in a setting that is so far from reality. it just amazed me how far and non concrete a person could be, which is so true to reality yet shown in such a unique and fantastical way.
