I think dragons are known to be greedy over their treasure, and Ian sees Danny as his treasure, basically a walking talking bad full of gold coins, making Ian go crazy because his treasure got up and ran away, he cares about Danny but he probably don't know he's doing it in an abusive way, because he's a dragon and greed is their specialty (he sees Danny as his treasure and only his.)(づ￣ ³￣)づWEIRD
