Basically he isn't really friendly, he still selfish because he wants all of Ian. he would pretend to be around people if Ian ask him too because what Ian wants, he will do it.
As long as he looks nice in front of Ian, then he will continue to fool anyone. Raymond only has one goal and that is to forever be with Ian, and that probably means he will never let him go even if Ian leaves him or some shit.
