I agree!! I think his insecurities got the best of him because like you said, Kitaoji seemed to not have been in a relationship in a long time and hadn’t had romantic feelings for a man ever. Of course he would need time to adjust and get to know his own feelings and anybody could be surprised if another person suddenly started stripping.
