nah sis sometimes insecurities + negative/ stressful feelings can cause people to say things they dont mean in attempt to hurt others because they themselves were hurt (even tho they never really mean to yk) I've had people do this to me before and I also hve caught myself doing it to others... From his backstory it really didn't seem like he was embarrassed of her at all
Ok. I thought it was william who ignored her first and then the joke happened. i was thinking william didnt want his 2 friend grp to meet cos im sure annie wont like them. (goody two shoes ppl can be pretty judgmental)

hm from the backstory, it was Annie who distanced herself studying etc which caused William to be insecure and anxious etc the whole thing was a fat misunderstanding and they never talked it out plus the stories perspective is from Annie so ofc we would only see her pov and feelings so i get why u thought william ignored her first I thought that too
In reality teenagers rly do say and do stupid things that will make us hate them if they were magnified in a manwha. I also got the feeling of wanting to conform w popular peers.
But that "joke" excuse seems pretty weak to me. I think he was rly ashamed of her and that wouldve been realistic but i guess the author was trying to salvage his character.
