Well more like he's emotionless and he believes he's a living doll and he thinks also that all agriche's are emotionless bastard whose other peoples pain are their pleasure but roxanna isn't really like that so it hits him that there's still someone had human emotion with them(remember roxanna cried when Asil died) and that's also the day Dion feels alive cuz roxie shows that much emotion to him. Remember the chapter whereas people mistaken their conversation with SeXuAl TenSion but in reality Dion wants that ounce of human emotion with him to keep him alive. Right.remember agriche's are all like crazy people and that exempted roxana so Dion was abit hopeful that someone can also make him feel such certain emotion. In conclusion he's pitiful being who just wants to live normally and he believes he's better be dead than living that shitty life. I also think from reading the novel that he wants to die with the hands of someone with complete sane mind and that's roxanna.
