Mangaka is a woman. And plenty of female authors capture the male perspective. After all, it's the dominant perspective imposed on us.

Yes, I was referring to literature in general. In yaoi specifically, mangaka are writing primarily for women, so capturing the male perspective isn't the primary intent. This mangaka did not initially create this work as yaoi. That was a marketing decision made by the publisher, which is why this does not read as a "typical" yaoi.
I love the amount of realism of this story. Minus the murdering part, this kind of rejection happens to gay people all the time and you can really feel the reality in this work. I think this mangaka may be a man, but if they are a woman then they do a great job of capturing a man's perspective on things like love. The art style is more realistic than others which i like, but I'm not a big fan of muscles at all. Overall this is great! ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
